YASKAWA at Motek (Hall 7 / Stand 7205)
21. August 2019
A show cell will demonstrate the potential of a MOTOMAN HC10 for palletizing: the HRC-capable hybrid robot lends itself to simple and space-saving integration into safety concepts without a guard rail. It can also be quickly and flexibly adapted to various pick-and-place applications, as it is programmed via the robot arm and by using of the smart pendant.
Additional function keys near to the flange make this "easy teaching" possible. In the displayed show cell, reliable switching between industrial and collaborating speed with the use of external safety technology (e.g. a scanner) can contribute to the maximization of output.
Latest generation of programmers
With the new smart pendant YASKAWA introduces the programming option of the latest generation. The smart pendant follows the state-of-the-art operating structure of a smartphone and is available for all handling robots with the YRC1000 and YRC1000micro control units. Beginning with the main menu, changing between the submenus is intuitive, as the latter are listed in a specific, easily understandable sequence. The smart pendant thus gives quick and easy access to all robot functions.
MotoMINI type high-speed robots
In another show cell two lightweight high-speed MotoMINI type robots jointly carry out complex and highly precise handling tasks. This smallest model in the MOTOMAN portfolio with a range of 350 mm and a loading capacity of 500 g combines fast cycle times with a high repeat accuracy of 0.02 mm. Within a confined space it can perform movements in all three directions and around all three axes. This freedom of movement also enables complicated three-dimensional handling operations. The 6-axis robot is thus ideal for handling smaller workpieces and components, but also for assembly work in small production machines. Due to its compact design, it has the smallest of footprints. In 2019 the model won the "Red Dot Award: Product Design" that the renowned jury only gives to exceptionally well designed products.
Integration of servo drives and compact frequency inverters
YASKAWA servo drives are among the most compact and at the same time most efficient servo systems available on the market. Particularly in the smaller power ranges, they demonstrate their strengths, for example, in packaging machines. According to the motto "Parameterizing instead of programming" at Motek YASKAWA will be showing how the powerful systems can be easily integrated into the existing control concepts of various established vendors. In addition to increased machine throughput, this brings advantages to the user in start-up and implementation. The scalable solution is suitable for synchronous and non-synchronous applications with up to 64 axes. The company will also be exhibiting its newly developed frequency inverter GA500. This particularly compact model for industrial applications offers 800 parameters and thus a comprehensive range of functions for obtaining the optimum solution to virtually every drive task. Despite the diversity, it can be easily parameterized in five minutes by answering simple questions. In industrial production, this ease of handling not only simplifies but also significantly speeds up the start-up process. Furthermore, the GA500 is suitable for all motor types, i.e. also for permanent magnet motors.
